  2. Show it on screen: Add the text “Paid Promotion” or “Advertisement” in clear, legible text against the background for minimum 10 seconds before you introduce the brand, product or service.

  3. Use YouTube’s built-in disclosure: Enable the “Includes paid promotion” toggle when uploading your video – learn more here.

  4. Write it in the description: Start your video description with “Includes a paid promotion with {Brand Name}”.

General tips for effective disclosure

  1. Be clear and simple: Avoid vague terms like “Thanks to [Brand]” or “In collaboration with [Brand]”.

  2. Place it prominently: Ensure the disclosure is visible or audible without requiring extra effort from viewers.

  3. Follow local laws: Check regulations in your country to ensure compliance with advertising guidelines.

  4. Use the language of your content: Write the disclosure in the same language as the content to ensure it’s easily understood by your audience, no matter where they’re from.

By following these steps, you'll build trust with your audience and stay on the right side of the law!
